Arianna 2001’s case, the company which offers highly specialized logistics services and, on behalf of Lotterie Nazionali, since 2004 has been taking exclusively in charge of the custody, packaging and distribution of scratch tickets to more than 50,000 Italian stores, which has chosen a responsive technology for the new Digital Transformation.
THE NEED
The project developed by Npo Sistemi stands within a necessary review of operations dictated by the pandemic. The company had the need to adopt a remote working model which included the use of virtual desktops, especially to ensure the security of infrastructure. Arianna 2001’s intention was to maintain its own on premise architecture but modernize it with a migration to a private cloud.
“Arianna 2001 – says Massimo Salierno, Arianna 2001's Information Systems Director – is equipped with highly reliable data centers, thanks to which we deliver strategic services that require continuity and H24 availability. It’s about payment systems for tobacconists, for the provision of telephone top-ups and the distribution of regional and international travel tickets. It’s vital for us to count on a technological partner which can ensure speed of delivery and stability. For our needs of scalability, immediacy, availability and our need to limit investments in hardware, the passage to a service model has proved successful.
SOLUTION
Once the needs of Arianna 2001 were understood, Npo Sistemi suggested the HPE Green Lake platform which proved to be perfect, both for the paper use service and for the ability to manage an agile, flexible, scalable infrastructure through a single dashboard, optimizing costs which led to a rapid resource availability and an automatic load balancing of the infrastructure.
Thus, the private cloud is configured as the perfect technological solution to maintain the same service levels, and the serenity which is transmitted by a on-premise architecture, with the advantage of enjoying the performance of a cloud environment, of maintaining the operation even remotely, and especially of achieving immediate scalability to any change in workloads.
